Golf ball prices have increased, but amateur driving distance has remained flat since 2005.
A new metric called Golf Ball Cost-Per-Yard (CPY) has been introduced to help golfers save money without sacrificing performance.
Using data from Golf Laboratories, the study found that there is very little difference in performance between ball brands and models.
The Titleist ProV1 has the highest CPY at 21 cents per yard of driving distance.
